About the Program
In response to the upcoming reduction of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits on November 1st, Meals on Wheels South Florida is proud to announce the launch of its new initiative, the Senior Snap Relief Program. This program aims to provide vital meal support to seniors who will experience a loss of SNAP benefits, ensuring they continue to receive nutritious, ready-to-eat meals.
Senior Snap Relief will provide eligible seniors with four weeks of meals, including two deliveries containing 14 dinners and 14 shelf-stable breakfast items. The goal of the program is to ensure that no senior goes hungry during this transition period.
Additional Information
To qualify for Senior Snap Relief, applicants must meet the same criteria as the regular Meals on Wheels South Florida program, with the added requirement of submitting a document confirming they were a recipient of SNAP benefits. The program is designed to support seniors who are facing food insecurity due to the loss of their benefits starting on November 1st.
